  • Swim to the Left of the Centre when swimming in lanes

  • Move to the left side of the lane when you stop to rest

  • Keep the middle of the lane clear for turning

  • A tap on the toes means someone would like to pass ( let them through at the end of the length)

  • DO NOT pass down the centre line

  • Stop at the end of the lane to let  faster swimmers pass

  • Choose a lane suitable to your speed and ability 

  • Listen to the coaches if  they advise changing to a more appropriate lane

  • Allow at least 5 seconds take off between swimmers

  • NO heavy jewellery or watches to be worn during training sessions

  • NO diving in the shallow end of the pool
